Even at my best, there’s no way in hell that I could do better than Erster’s encapsulation of the international flaccidity over “teh wunderkind” doing his big national debut last night… Well, maybe “flaccidity” isn’t the right word, but it’s certainly descriptive. “Big giant clusterfuck of bad karma, genocidal profiteering, and out-and-out batshit-crazy cult bigot, hitting the airwaves like those Canada geese hit Sully’s jet engines“ would probably be more appropriate, but also more unwieldy.
I couldn’t be more amused, unless I can find a lawyer who’ll bankrupt AVON for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd-degree burns on my face and their utter unwillingness (thus far) to deal with their responsibility in that. If I don’t hear anything productive by tomorrow, I *will* be posting pictures of the damage, so make sure you’ve fully digested whatever meal before you look at them. You’ve been warned. And no, sorry, it’s nothing as funny as a Darwin Awards near-miss. There were no actual flames, electrical appliances, or livestock involved in said injury.
Oh, and Erster’s thing is a two-parter, so scroll down to the first one, then back up to read part II, ’cause it is DEFINITELY worth reading both of ‘em. I haven’t laughed that hard in a LONG fucking time… well, since Mentis sent me “Black Sheep,” but that’s a whole different kind of laughter… kinda… heh heh heh…
BTW, here’s today’s Atheist Quote Of The Day (just to piss the True Believers off a bit more…): Clive Barker: “I think that god that we have created and allowed to shape our culture through, essentially Christian theology, is a pretty villainous creature. I think that one of the things that male patriarchal figure has done is, allowed under it’s, his church, his wing, all kinds of corruption and villanies to grow and fester. In the name of God terrible wars have been waged, in the name of that God terrible sexism has been allowed to spread. There are children being born all across this world that don’t have enough food to eat because that god, at least his church, tells the mothers and fathers that they must procreate at all costs, and to prevent procreation with a condom is in controvention with his laws.”
