Oh no, not more on FISA….

Posted by Realist on February 18, 2008 – 6:20 pm

Yes, a little more on FISA. Just this, from Cliff Schecter’s place. I apologize to you who have dial-up, but, as an extra enticement, this clip features Keith O.

We do have a bit of a reprieve, with the House in recess. Yes, the Protect America Act lapsed on the 15th, much to the joy of the terrists I’m sure (yeah, right). On their return, the House will take up discussion of the RESTORE Act, which does not include telecom immunity.

    Jeebus, LPF. Awesome

Sorry. Am having a middle to awful melt-down, personally.

    But YOU JUST GO.

And whatever you do, it doesn’t help, you know. It is just one more step in making it more perfidious than it ever was, and this isn’t something NEW.

I was often ‘flabberghasted’ by what people supposedly ‘knew’ about me. Just don’t get me started, hey.

If you can stop this… it will be a little brake. And good.

But do not think it will be the end-all and be-all. It will not.
There are enough programmes out there, and they record you.

I HAVE had my mail looked through, and certain letters missing, when I sent them home from Europe. The only ones dealing with politics. Tja, it is nothing new. And THAT, my dear, was in 1973.

    So this meme about spying?

It is very-.–VERY important that someone STOPS this idiocy. So that it doesn’t go further.

I was about as much a threat to the US as a fly on your shoulder, buzzing.

    And I resent that.

    Muchly.

I’m so sick of the “BOO, MOTHERFUCKER! GIVE UP YOUR FREEDOM OR WE ALL DIE!” thing. It never worked on me in the first place.

Maybe because I don’t have any crotchspawn to catastophize over. It’s easy to scare people if you tell them the threat is directed at their children. Yet another bonus of being child-free, I guess. I’m gonna need a new filing cabinet, the way they keep racking up.

I’m not happy with the idea of ret-conning a crime to suddenly be legal. Matter of fact, I’m fairly certain that Section 10 of the Constitution has something to say about that, but I’m not 100% about it anymore (I think the pigs have been busy with the paint when the rest of us animals weren’t looking).

RenB, have you seen “The Lives of Others?” It’s about spying on citizens in East Germany. Great movie, it’s on DVD now. Although, at present, you mightn’t be in the right frame of mind to watch it. Hmmm, I suggest large helpings of classic literature. And Winnie-the-Pooh, the books I mean, not the disneyfied movies. Srsly.

Hi Saborlas. Having a son hasn’t caused me to get my knickers in a twist over the terrists. I think it’s the whole authoritarian-wing of the population. They almost like to be scared so Big Daddy can take care of them. Very strange mentality, but I’ve seen it in my own family. As for the 10th Amendment, well, so many prima facie unconstitutional laws have been passed by congress of late, what’s one more?

Yes, LPF, saw it. Doesn’t tell it by half. I happened to BE in Berlin when the wall came down. And was in East Berlin earlier, just visiting…. I GOT the sense of basic fear for everything you do, whatever you say, it was repressive, and I thought, how can they LIVE like this? But some did. By betrayal.

The stuff that came out after was sickening, just sickening. That film sort of scratched the surface.

And Saborlas? It won’t stop until you and everyone you know MAKES it stop.
